MR DEV MAHADEVAN

Mr Dev Mahadevan is a fellowship trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Foot and Ankle surgery and musculoskeletal injuries. He runs a bespoke and comprehensive foot and ankle practice in Reading dealing with conditions arising from injury, deformity or degenerative processes. At his NHS base Royal Berkshire Hospital, he is also part of the acute trauma service dealing with general and complex orthopaedic fractures and injuries. Mr Mahadevan is a founding member of the Reading Foot & Ankle Unit, encompassing a group of local health care professionals who run private clinics across Reading, Berkshire.
Mr Mahadevan graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2002. His early medical and surgical training was in the South West. He subsequently underwent specialist orthopaedic training in the East Midlands Deanery based mainly in the University Hospitals of Leicester and Northampton. His foot and ankle advanced surgical fellowship was at the internationally renowned Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol. This is where he developed his major clinical interest in arthroscopic and endoscopic (keyhole surgery) treatment of ankle and foot conditions.
He is actively involved in research and has published and presented internationally. His particular research interest is on bunion correction, arthritis of the big toe, Morton's neuroma and Achilles tendon inflammation. Mr Mahadevan is very passionate about training the next generation of surgeons and is a faculty member of several national orthopaedic courses.
