BACKGROUND & TRAINING
Mr Dev Mahadevan is a fellowship trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Foot and Ankle surgery and musculoskeletal injuries. Mr Mahadevan graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2002. His early medical and surgical training was in the South West and he subsequently undertook specialist orthopaedic training in the East Midlands Deanery. His advanced foot and ankle surgical fellowship was at the internationally renowned Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol. This is where he developed his major clinical interest in arthroscopic and endoscopic (keyhole surgery) treatment of ankle and foot conditions.

RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS
Mr Mahadevan is an elected Member of the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Scientific Committee. With over 25 peer-reviewed research publications to-date and a portfolio of national and international research presentations, Mr Mahadevan is well respected in this field. His particular research interest is on bunion correction, arthritis, Morton's neuroma and Achilles tendon disorders. Click here to see his Publications and Presentations.
Mr Mahadevan has written a book chapter on Musculoskeletal Joint injections in the Musculoskeletal Injections and Alternative Options: A practical guide to 'what, when and how?. His chapter on Calcaneal fractures in the Essentials of Foot and Ankle Surgery textbook is currently with the publishers and is due to be released in May 2021.
TRAINING FUTURE SURGEONS
Mr Mahadevan is very passionate about training the next generation of surgeons. He is an invited faculty member of several acclaimed orthopaedic courses including the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Principles Course and the Chesterfield, Sheffield and Derby FRCS (Tr&Orth) Clinical Examination Course. Mr Mahadevan is also the educational supervisor to several orthopaedic surgical trainees who train at Royal Berkshire Hospital. He has twice been nominated for Trainer of the Year by orthopaedic trainees from the Oxford and North West London deaneries.
Outside of work, Mr Mahadevan enjoys travelling, keeping fit and supporting Liverpool FC. In his younger years, Mr Mahadevan was a competitive track and field athlete and enjoyed his racquet sports.
